CA Exams: New Changes in Pattern of Assessment from May 2019


The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) going to change the pattern of CA Examinations from May 2019.
 The Intermediate/IIPCE and Final Examinations under the Old and New Scheme of Education and Training may beginning from May, 2019 attempt, assessment in certain subjects would be partially based on objective type questions. The changes would be applicable to the following subjects. 

In the Intermediate exam

 New Course,
 Corporate and Other Laws, Taxation, Auditing & Assurance, Enterprise Information System & Strategic Management. 
Old course,
 The changes would be included in papers such as Business Laws, Ethics & Communication Taxation Business Laws, Ethics & Auditing & Assurance.

 In case of CA Final exam 

New Course, 
Changes would be incorporated in the papers, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, Corporate and Economic Laws, Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation and Indirect Tax Laws.
Old course, 
Papers such as Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, Corporate and Allied Laws, Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws would be subject to changes.



 In each of the above papers, the weightage for objective type questions would be 30%. The remaining questions i.e., 70% of the paper would be as per the present pattern of assessment. The objective type questions will be in the nature of multiple choice questions having 1 or more marks. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. It may be noted that objective type questions will be compulsory and there will be no internal or external choice in them.
